How would I arrange a school visit from one of your students to my school?
Simply email or write to us. We'll try and find volunteers who are able to visit you at a time mutually convenient. After that, we'll leave you and the student to liaise over any other details. Please e-mail us some time before you wish for a student to visit - it can take time to match students to schools.
What will the student's talk consist of?
We encourage our volunteers to tailor their talks to the specific circumstances of the school at which they're speaking. Our primary focus is busting many of the incorrect and damaging myths which about Oxford and its application process. We believe the best way to do this is for current students to share their experiences of life as an undergraduate. Once you've made contact with one of our volunteers, you can chat to them about what you think your students would be interested in knowing.
When are your students able to visit?
Most of school visits are conducted during Oxford University's Easter or summer vacations, when schools are still in term. Most schools tend to find visits most useful in early September when school students are thinking about university applications, and Oxford students haven't gone back yet. How does my school get involved in the Student Shadowing scheme?
Currently, the Student Shadowing scheme selects schools based on a series of criteria including, but not exclusively, the previous number of applications to Oxford from the school and the distance from Oxford. For more information please contact us.
